Submit Song/Rhyme
Mama Lisa welcomes contributions of new songs and nursery rhymes!
If you know of a nursery rhyme, traditional children's song, or folk song, let us know. We'd love to add new countries and cultures and we'd also love more material from the cultures already represented. Our definition of nursery rhyme or children's song is very broad. If it's sung or recited to or by kids and their families, we will be happy to include it. (Please, no copyrighted material.) We also welcome traditional folk songs that are family friendly!
We would like the rhymes and songs in both the original language and with an English translation, if possible. In many cases, we can help with the English translation.
We would also be happy to post illustrations, children's drawings, sound recordings, midi tunes or sheet music with the rhymes and songs. And, we'd be glad to receive interesting facts about the traditions or history of each culture.
If anyone would like to sing any of these songs in the original language, or play any of the tunes on an instrument, I would love to post a recording on Mama Lisa's World. You could send me an audio cassette or you could record it directly onto the computer and email it to me. I can accept mp3's and wav files. Remember... you don't have to be a professional singer or musician to contribute a recording!
All contributions will be credited and, in most cases, we will be glad to link to the web site of everyone who helps us.
