Notes

Lyrics: Yehiel Halperin (1880 -1942)
Music: Yoel Engel (1868 -1927)

"Yaldati" is the feminine form of the word (my little daughter, baby girl/daughter), so is "k'tanati" (my female child).

Yael wrote, "Lanoum/lanum is the infinitive of an outdated verb used to say 'to sleep' and numi is its feminine imperative. Nim is a stylistic feature, I'd say, to be redundant.
Levana indeed means 'white'. But it's also a biblical word to describe the moon."
