Ninna nanna, ninna oh
(Versione 3)
Agnès wrote, "I've just read your version of the Befana lullaby. In Umbria, an old lady (who looked a little like her) taught me another version.
The 1st verse about a baby girl was sung, then the 2nd verse about a baby boy was sung changing one's voice, then we started all over again and sang both verses alternating the voices. And the baby I was lulling would be falling asleep (and mine too, later. It's a magical lullaby!) Happy Befana Day!"

Rock-a-bye Baby, Oh
(Version 3)
Lullaby
Lullaby
(Italian)
(English)
Ninna nanna ninna oh,
Questa bambina a chi la do
La voglio dare a la Befana
Ma la Befana non la vuole
Ho ho, ha ha, questa bambina chi la vuole
Ho ho, ha ha, questa bambina me la tengo.
(Con un'altra voce)
Ninna nanna ninna oh
Questo bambino a chi lo do
Lo voglio dare a l uomo nero
Ma l'uomo nero non lo vuole,
Ho ho, ha ha, questo bambino chi lo vuole
Ho ho, ha ha, questo bambino me lo tengo.
Rock-a-bye baby, oh
Who will I give this baby girl to?
I want to give her to the Befana
But the Befana doesn't want her.
Ho ho, ha ha, who wants this baby girl?
Ho ho, ha ha, I'm keeping that baby girl for myself.
(With a different voice)
Rock-a-bye baby, oh
Who will I give this baby boy to?
I want to give him to the boogeyman
But the boogeyman doesn't want him.
Ho ho, ha ha, who wants this baby boy?
Ho ho, ha ha, I'm keeping that baby boy for myself.
