Ride ride ranke!
Sig mig hvor skal vejen gå?
Bedstefar besøg skal få.
Ride ride ranke!
Ride, ride ranke!
Og når vi så stiger af,
siger vi "goddag, goddag!"
Ride, ride ranke!
Ride, ride ranke!
Bedstemor, hun er så snild.
Vi kan lege som vi vil.
Ride, ride, ranke!
Ride, ride ranke!
Nu til onkel i galop.
"Er han hjemme?" Ja! Så stop!
Ride, ride ranke!
Ride, ride ranke!
Nu er hesten ordnt'lig træt.
Rytteren er god og mæt.
Ride, ride ranke!
Ride, ride ranke!
Tell me, where does the road go?
We will visit grandpa.
Ride, ride ranke!
Ride, ride ranke!
And then when we descend,
We say, "Good day, good day!"
Ride, ride ranke!
Ride, ride ranke!
Grandma, she is so kind.
We can play as we want.
Ride, ride ranke!
Ride, ride ranke!
Now, galloping to uncle's,
Is he home? Yes! Then stop!
Ride, ride ranke!
Ride, ride ranke!
Now the horse is really tired
The rider is full and glad,
Ride, ride ranke!

Petter wrote, "I was uncertain when it came to the translation of the line 'ride ride ranke'. 'Ride' literally means 'ride', as on a horse. 'Ranke' can mean the long rows of grapes or other fruits, but in this setting, 'ride ranke' means to jump up and down on someone's lap."
