King January Has Come to Town
King January Has Come to Town
Poem
King January has come to town,
In long gray cloak, and snowy white crown,
We'll race with him, meet him on the top of the hill
We'll coast with him, skate with him down by the mill;
Let's greet him with laughter, now let it ring out
Who cares for the Winter snow, flying about?
Hail January in our cheer
And help ring the bells for the important New Year
Hurrah for the cold! Hurrah for the snow,
We love to skate when the north winds blow
The houses are white and crystal the trees;
Where else can we find such pictures as these?
Then come January with thy cheer and thy mirth
And shed forth thy brightness all over the earth.
