Allons danser Colinda
This dance song probably derived from the Calinda dance which was reported to have been performed in New Orleans by Afro-Caribbean slaves brought to Louisiana. (1)
It's still sung and danced to throughout the year and for Mardi Gras in Louisiana. It's usually sung in French and then in English.
Allons danser Colinda

Dance Song

Allons danser Colinda
Danser collé Colinda
Pendant ta mère est pas là
Pour faire fâcher les vieilles femmes.
C'est pas tout le monde qui peut danser
Tous les vieilles valses des vieux temps
Pendant ta mère est pas là
Allons danser Colinda !
Let's go dance Colinda
Let's dance close Colinda
While your mother isn't there
To make the old ladies mad.
It's not everyone who can dance
All the old waltzes of the old times
While your mother isn't there
Let's go dance Colinda!
