Bonhomme, bonhomme
This is a very old song. It was collected by Ernest Gagnon in his book, "Chansons populaires du Canada" in 1865 (1st edition). It's the Canadian version of the French song, "La mist'en laire". A song somewhat similar to it could be found in print as early as 1612.

Bonhomme, bonhomme,
Que sais-tu donc faire ?
Sais-tu bien jouer du genou par terre ?
Terre, terre, terre, du genou par terre,
Ah ! Ah ! Ah ! Du genou par terre !
Good man, good man,
What can you do?
Do you play well the knees on the ground game?
Ground, ground, ground, knees on the ground,
Oh! Oh! Oh! The knees on the ground game!
