Ja sam mala Ruža
"I was born in Australia of Croatian/Dalmatian parents and was bi-lingual from day one. This is a poem/song my mother taught me when I was small. After 80 years, this lilting little ditty still comes to my mind. You might consider including it in your collection." -Ena
Ja sam mala Ruža
I am Little Roza
Children's Song
Children's Song
(Croatian)
(English)
Ja sam mala Ruža
Mamina sam kći.
U našemu mjestu
Vidim svašta tad.
Vidim kuće, crkve,
na vrh brijega grad.
Al ́ je meni najdraža
Od svih kuća tih.
Ona mala kućica
Gdje si majko ti.
I am little Roza
My mum's daughter
In my home village
I see many things
I see pretty houses
In the town, on the hill
But I love best
Of all those houses
Is that little house
Which is my mother, you!
