aetérna lux credéntium
Christe redémptor ómnium
exáudi preces súpplicum
Qui cóndolens intéritu
mortis perire saeculum
salvásti mundum languidum
donans reis remedium.
Vergénte mundi véspere
uti sponsus de thálamo
egréssus honestissima
Virginis matris cláusula.
Cuius forti ponténtiae
genu curvántur ómnia
caeléstia, terréstia
nutu faténtur súbdita.
Te, Sancte fide quáesumus,
venture judex sáeculi,
consérva nos in témpore
hostis a telo perfidi.
Sit, Christe rex piissime
tibi Patríque glória
cum Spíritu Paráclito
in sempitérna sáecula.

Thy people's everlasting light
Christ, redeemer of us all
Hear thy supplicants' prayers.
Inheriting the curse
To die, death binded to
Saving the afflicted world,
Give healing.
As the world drew to evening
Like a bridegroom from his chamber,
Having come forth from the most noble
Cloister of the virgin mother.
Before whose mighty power
All knees bend,
In heaven, on earth,
Subject to your command.
So we pray to You, O Holy
Judge of the Age to come,
Keep us safe
From the armed enemy.
O Christ, our loving King
You the Father
And Holy Spirit
For all eternity.
