O'Leary
"This is how I remember the O-Leary from Canada's west coast in the early fifties: Ours came with a 16 count ball bounce sequence that was called out as..." -Elsie
O'Leary
Ball Bouncing Rhyme
Plain, Clap, Roll, O-Leary.
Heel, Toe, Cross, O-Leary,
Back, High, Low, O-Leary,
Cross, Under, Over, O-Leary.
Notes
"This is a sequence of hand, arms and leg movements that repeated itself, except that in place of the four O-Learys, was next a Pocket, and later a Basket, followed by a Skirtsy, then Pick-a-Pocket, and the finale was the Gibraltar, which used the whole body, if any girl made it that far without losing the ball. This was called out by a simple tune that anyone could sing. Memories for me from almost 60 years ago!" -Elsie
