Uç uç böceğim
Fly, Fly, My Ladybug
Nursery Rhyme
Nursery Rhyme
(Turkish)
(English)
Uç uç böceğim,
annem sana terlik pabuç alacak.
Fly, fly, my ladybug,
My mother will buy you slippers and shoes.
Notes
Note: Ay Gül translated this song literally as:
Fly, fly, my little insect,
My mother will buy you slippers and shoes.
"Böceği" is literally little insect or beetle in Turkish. The "m" at the end of the word in the rhyme means "my". Ladybugs are normally called, "uğurböceği" (insect of happiness). Yet it appears clear that this song is about a ladybug.
