"Hare today, goon tomorrow" is a play on words meaning, "Here today, gone tomorrow".
Rose wrote: "I just wanted to share the variation of "little bunny foofoo" that I grew up with. Instead of being turned into a mouse he was turned into a goon and then the singer would say, "the moral of this story is 'hare today, goon tomorrow'". The song just loses so much fun when he gets turned into a mouse! For what it's worth, I grew up on the west coast of Canada. -Rose."
