Brenna sent this rhyme with a note: "I don't know if this is a nursery rhyme or an actual song, but my grandmother, Theresa Delaney (originally Theresa Smith, from a large German-Catholic family in Pesotum, IL), who was born in 1928, always sang it to me and my siblings."

Brenna wrote: "The last line may be different - she (grandmother) told me that it was 'just what she'd always said'. She'd sing it to us as we sat on her knee - she'd hold our hands and teeter-totter us back and forth... when it came to 'One big push', she'd tip us back as far as we could go while staying on the knee, then 'One big pull' us back up."
