Canción infantil
Children's Song
(Spanish)
(English)
Antón, Antón,
Antón Pirulero,
Cada cual, cada cual
Que aprenda su juego,
Y el que no lo aprenda
Pagará, pagará,
Pagará una prenda.
Antón, Antón,
Antón Pirulero,
Every one, every one
Must learn his part,
The one who doesn't learn it,
Will get, will get
Will get a penalty.
Notes
This song is originally from Spain
Game Instructions
The children sit in a circle. The leader (previously chosen) is placed on a spot where s/he can easily be seen. Every player chooses a musical instrument that s/he will pretend to play when the leader points to her/him. If s/he fails (s/he didn't notice that s/he was pointed to), s/he'll get a penalty that was fixed before the game started.
Comments
Marta wrote: "I want to send you the version I grew up with in Montevideo". Here it is:
Antón, Antón,
Antón Pirulero
Cada cual, cada cual,
Que atienda a su juego,
Y el que no lo atienda,
Y el que no lo atienda,
Pagará, pagará,
Una prenda tendrá.
English translation
Antón, Antón,
Antón Pirulero,
Each one, each one
Must pay attention to his game,
The one who doens't pay attention
The one who doesn't pay attention
Will pay, will pay
Will get a penalty.
