Je joue à la balle
Je joue à la balle
I'm Playing with a Ball
Comptine pour jouer à la balle
Ball Bouncing Rhyme
(French)
(English)
Je joue à la balle
Contre la muraille,
Un peu plus haut
Je casse un carreau,
Un peu plus bas
Je tue mon chat.
La balle roule
Dans un fossé,
Un homme passe,
Me la ramasse,
La met dans sa poche
Et puis s'en va.
Je monte à ma maison :
Mon père lisait,
Ma mère cousait,
Mon petit frère dormait,
Et moi je pleurais.
Mon père me dit :
"Pour ta pénitence,
Tu feras
Trois tours de France."
Un, deux, trois.
I'm playing with a ball
Against the wall.
A little higher
I break a pane
A little lower
I kill my cat.
The ball rolls
Down in a ditch
A man passes by
Picks it up
Puts it in his pocket
Then goes away.
I went up to my house,
My father was reading
My mother was sewing
My little brother was sleeping
And I was weeping.
My father told me,
"As a punishment
You'll do three times
A trip around France."
One, two, three.
Comments
Monique wrote, "We used to chant this one when juggling against a wall. At the end of the rhyme, on "one", "two" and "three" we would throw one ball and spin around once before catching it again."
