E-yo cow!
Kids sing this on seeing a cow...
E-yo cow!
Hey, Cow!
Children's Song
Children's Song
(Cameroonian Pidgin English)
(English)
E-yo cow!
Njama, njama cow!
My mami dey for Ngaoundere
For saka belle cow***!
Hey, cow!
Njama, njama* cow!
My mother is in Ngaoundere**
Because of tripe!
Notes
*"Njama-njama" is a Pidgin English word for leafy green vegetables, and does not add to the song. Probably something like "fee fi fom".
**Ngaoundere is a city in the North of Cameroon where cattle rearing is a major occupation.
***"Belle cow" will literarily translate as "the stomach of the cow" but actually refers to tripe and other internal parts of the cow which are generally eaten in Cameroon.
