Galineta, monta al cèl
Monique wrote, "When I was a child, when we caught a ladybug, we made it climb on our hands and when it reached the tip of a finger, before it flew away we would chant this rhyme …"
Galineta, monta al cèl
Ladybug, Go up to the Sky

Galineta, monta al cèl
O senon te tui.
Ladybug, go up to the sky
Or else, I'll kill you.
Notes
Galineta literally means "little hen". Ladybugs are also called "catarineta" (little Catherine), "catarineta del Bon Dieu" (the Good God's little Catherine), "buòu de Nòstre Sénher" (Our Lord's ox… don't ask why!) and many other words.
