A linda rosa juvenil
A Pretty Young Rose
Children's Song
Children's Song
(Portuguese)
(English)
A linda rosa juvenil
juvenil, juvenil
a linda Rosa juvenil
juvenil
Vivia alegre num solar
num solar, num solar
vivia alegre num solar
num solar
Um dia a feiticeira má
muito má, muito má
um dia a feiticeira má
muito má
Adormeceu a Rosa assim
bem assim, bem assim
adormeceu a Rosa assim
bem assim
Não há de acordar jamais
nunca mais, nunca mais
não há de acordar jamais
nunca mais
E o tempo passou a correr
a correr, a correr
e o tempo passou a correr
a correr
E o mato cresceu ao redor
ao redor, ao redor
e o mato cresceu ao redor
aoi redor
Um dia veio um lindo rei
lindo rei, lindo rei
um dia veio um lindo rei
lindo rei
e despertou a rosa assim,
bem assim, bem assim
e despertou a rosa assim,
bem assim
Vamos fazer a roda assim,
bem assim, bem assim
vamos fazer a roda assim,
bem assim
A pretty young rose
Young, young
A pretty young rose
Young
Lived happily in a manor
In a manor, in a manor
Lived happily in a manor
In a manor
One day, a nasty sorceress
Very nasty, very nasty
One day, a nasty sorceress
Very nasty
Put the rose to sleep this way
This very way, this very way
Put the rose to sleep this way
This very way
She must never remember
Never more, never more
She must never remember
Never more
And the time passed away
Passed away, passed away
And the time passed away
Passed away
And the bushes grew around
All around, all around
And the bushes grew around
All around
One day came a fine king
A fine king, a fine king
One day came a fine king
A fine king
And he woke up the rose this way
This very way, this very way
And he woke up the rose this way
This very way
We're going to dance around this way
This very way, this very way,
We're going to dance around this way
This very way.

Eduardo de Lima Pereira wrote: "This is the Brazilian version in Portuguese of "Dornröschen"-"Little Rosethorn". I loved this song when I was a kid. It's a "dança de roda" (circle dance) in my native Brazil. The story told is exactly the same. It corresponds to an old fairy tale known all over Europe
Thanks!
