All children are on Christmas Eve,
As busy as can be;
They hang their little stockings up
For Santa Claus to see.
How very careful they must be
To have them stout and strong;
For Santa has many a toy,
To please this merry throng.
Hush! Hark! I hear the tiny reindeer
Come pattering on the snow;
Now quickly get you into bed,
Or else away they'll go.

Pour que le Père Noël les voie.
Qu'ils doivent faire attention
Pour les avoir forts et solides,
Car le Père Noël a des jouets à foison
Pour plaire à cette foule réjouie.
Chut ! Écoutez ! J'entends un bruit de pas
Sur la neige, le petit renne est là ;
Maintenant, filez sous l'édredon,
Ou sinon ils partiront.
