This is the French equivalent to "He loves me, he loves me not". This rhyme is recited while plucking a daisy. The last petal is supposed to provide the answer.

Notes

The first line is sometimes: "I love you" or "S/he loves me" or "I love him/her". Another version omits "tendrement (tenderly), another adds "passablement" (passably, somewhat) after "passionnément".
