Oh che bel castello
Oh che bel castello
Oh, What a Fine Castle
Circle Dance
Circle Dance
(Italian)
(English)
"Oh che bel castello
marcondirondirondello,
oh che bel castello
marcondirondirondà."
"Il mio è ancora più bello
marcondirondirondello,
il mio è ancora più bello
marcondirondirondà."
"E noi lo ruberemo
marcondirondirondello,
e noi lo ruberemo
marcondirondirondà."
"E noi lo rifaremo
marcondirondirondello,
e noi lo rifaremo
marcondirondirondà."
"E noi lo bruceremo
marcondirondirondello,
e noi lo bruceremo
marcondirondirondà."
"E noi lo spegneremo
marcondirondirondello,
e noi lo spegneremo
marcondirondirondà."
"Oh, what a fine castle,
marcon-diron-dirondello,
Oh, what a fine castle,
marcon-diron-dironda."
"Mine is much finer,
marcon-diron-dirondello,
Mine is much finer,
marcon-diron-dironda."
"We will steal it,
marcon-diron-dirondello,
We will steal it,
marcon-diron-dironda."
"We'll build it again,
marcon-diron-dirondello,
We'll build it again,
marcon-diron-dironda."
"We will scorch it,
marcon-diron-dirondello,
We will scorch it,
marcon-diron-dironda."
"We'll put the fire out,
marcon-diron-dirondello,
We'll put the fire out,
marcon-diron-dironda."
Notes
Here's an alternate version for the 3rd through 6th verses in the original Italian, followed by an English translation:
E noi lo distruggeremo,
marcondirondirondello,
E noi lo distruggeremo,
marcondirondironda.
E come farete,
marcondirondirondello,
E come farete,
marcondirondironda.
Togliendo una pietra,
marcondirondirondello,
Togliendo una pietra,
marcondirondironda.
E chi è questa pietra,
marcondirondirondello,
E chi è questa pietra,
marcondirondironda.
Questa pietra è (...),
marcondirondirondello,
Questa pietra è (...),
marcondirondironda.
English Translation
We will destroy it,
marcondirondirondello,
We will destroy it,
marcondirondironda.
How will you do it?
marcondirondirondello,
How will you do it?
marcondirondironda.
We'll take a stone out,
marcondirondirondello,
We'll take a stone out,
marcondirondironda.
And who is this stone?
marcondirondirondello,
And who is this stone?
marcondirondironda.
This stone is (child's name),
marcondirondirondello,
This stone is (child's name),
marcondirondironda.
Game Instructions
The children stand in two circles. The first circle should have two children, the second should have all the other kids. The kids in both circles start going around in a circle while singing the song. When they reach the last verse, the children in the first circle say the name of a child in the second circle who then joins them and so on till there are only two children left in the second circle.
Then the game can start again from the beginning.
