Formed Long Ago, Yet Made To-day

Formed long ago, yet made to-day,
Employed while others sleep;
What few would like to give away,
Nor any wish to keep.

Answer: A bed.
*****
We're not sure what the last line means – why wouldn't anyone wish to keep their bed? Does it mean they wouldn't wish to keep to their bed i.e. during the day, because they were sick? That's what I think it means. -Mama Lisa
