I Dropped a Letter
(A chi-chi bam bye zapati all over)
Singing Game
I dropped a letter on the way
Someone picked it up
And wouldn't give it up,
A chi-chi bam bye zapati all over
Not you, not you, but you.
Game Instructions
The kids playing stand in a line, shoulder to shoulder. The leader walks behind them and drops a piece of paper behind one of them. The leader then goes in front of the group and chants the song. While "not you, not you" is chanted, the leader points at two different people. When she comes to "but you" the leader should touch the shoulder of the person who had been marked with the paper behind her back (as "It"). The chase then starts. The leader and "It" race toward a predetermined spot. Whoever gets there first stays in the game, the loser drops out. These steps continue until there's just one person left. That person's the winner.
Comments
"My mom says that's how the game continues. They ran off, when the other person is "It" the song starts all over. We don't sing that song anymore because I don't know it." -Joan (in 2011)
