Animal Fair
Children's Song
I went to the animal fair,
All the birds and the beasts were there,
The big baboon by the light of the moon
Was combing his auburn hair,
The monkey bumped the skunk,
And sat on the elephant's trunk;
The elephant sneezed and fell to his knees,
And that was the end of the monk,
monk, monk.

Heather, who sang on the mp3 for us, sent us this other verse...
Animal fair part two:
Said a flea to a fly in a flue, said the flea,
"Oh, what shall we do?"
Said the flea, "Let us fly!"
Said the fly "Let us flee!"
So they flew through a flaw in the flue.
Many thanks to Sonya Smith for contributing this song. Thanks to Heather Dixon for the second verse.

Sonya Smith wrote me, "This is one that my grandmother used to sing to my little boy, up until her recent death."
